    Prairie Pounders

The private ground in NE has about 25 chickens using. I also think they are beautiful so did not take any shots. I have a male mounted from couple years ago and they make a beautiful upland mount.

    How was it?

I do agree scenting conditions were less than desirable. With that said, fewer coveys and smaller coveys this year in NE Kansas. The birds we did kill were small and very immature (indicating late hatch). I have been going to this area for a long time and very rarely did we not get our daily...

    How was it?

Response to Quail guy. We hunted NE Kansas opening 4 days. We had great morning on Saturday ( 5 coveys in 3 hours) on WIHA. We hunted approximately 1 mile from WIHA on Saturday and found nothing. Hard to explain, same cover, feed, etc..... We moved west the next three days and struck out...

    Upland Forecast

Been quiet on here as far as reports. I figure this thread would be blowing up on what people have found or not found out scouting with their dogs. I will be traveling about 13 hours from KY to hunt my usual contacts. I love the trip and have always found some birds. I will enjoy the trip...

    Broods

I have gotten to scout some over last couple weeks. I have seen several groups of broods here is South Central Ky. Just wondering if anybody in West Ky had witnessed the same thing. My gut feeling is there are going to be some birds- maybe a tad better than last year.

    Since the season is over....

A friend of mine who does gamble on sports took advantage of Bill Self's stats on Big Monday. He is now 29-0 on Big Mondays. Of course, they still had to win by 4 to cover. you are right, they did not seem themselves last night.

    Since the season is over....

I live 30 minutes from Lexington - graduated from there and my son attends there. If we had Bruce Webber as coach, we would win it all

    Since the season is over....

Rick Pitino will be the new coach at UNLV. You heard it here first. He will fit like a glove in Sin City

    Since the season is over....

Very true - I like Dean Wade- different KY team this year. I pull for KState- like Bruce Webber. I have gotten to know several K State fans from Manhattan area- always pull for them.

    Since the season is over....

Congrats to KState- but you better pay attention to the other Wildcat team- Kentucky Wildcats. Won a friendly value meal wager from my Kansas upland guide on the Ky/Kansas matchup. I don't think they can win it, but they are improving. I like Bruce Webber - brought some excitement to Manhattan

    Reports and pictures

I have only had setters and English pointers. I got to hunt with a couple of shorthairs on my trip to Kansas and I kinda liked them. I might add one to our mix of setters and pointers. I like how they are cautious and hunt dead. I like the pointers for covey finds- sometimes GPS had them at...
