Crappy weather or not 4 of us are headed back to the north central area. Not much for rainy weather hunting but got a setter in his first season and want to get him on as many wild birds as I can. Hope we scratch down a few. Done really well this year around the area were going to.

Yes you are correct. The combo means you can kill 2 birds. I believe you must use the permit on your first bird and the game tag on your second.

Well finally made it out with dogs today. And to my surprise I saw way more birds than I had expected. Starting the morning hunting a couple wiha fields that have been good to us in the past. 3 wiha fields a county south of the grandparents farm and only produced 4 hens and 2 roosters. Did get...

I just cant seem to let all this talk get me down about the hunting this year. Last year was pretty dang tough but i managed good numbers of birds in places, not like i remember from years back but still. Ill find them somewhere this year, I will not be sitting at home thats for sure. Probably...

ill be trying to get out after work tomorrow evening, got 2 really nice bucks that have been pretty consistant on coming out in the beans before dark on the same trail almost every time, and that trail is a nice 15 yard chip shot from my stand :) darn! hopefully ill see a few deer anyways.

i guess birds are just kinda spotty in the area. ive seen a few quail around valley falls this year, better than years past. saw a couple coveys sunday morning, drove 5 miles to where i found a covey last year, with great habitat this year, walked every inch of it and the dog didnt even get...

dont leave anything in the back of your pick up at tropps, that where we were last weekend we had our cooler full of birds stolen..

hunted in the nw last weekend and did pretty well. saw quite a few birds, and most of the birds actually pretty darn tight for the dogs. lots of good points by the pointers and good close flushes by the labs. hope to get back in the area 1 or 2 more times this season.

my first thought was that it could have been some kids thinking there was beer in it and never took the time to look . but could have been some mad locals, or other hunters. i would hope another hunter would never do that tho.
