    HB 2207 and 2208

Warden told me they could not. He is actually who got me the contact info for the landowner. Purple paint is still valid. Every one of my fence posts has it as well as each gate.

    HB 2207 and 2208

Farmers will take it out to sell deer permits to the highest bidder since they hopefully will only be allowed on land owned by th farmer. I know 600 acres near my house that will no longer be walk in and that's one landowner. I know you guys mostly hunt upland. I mostly hunt waterfowl. In the...

    HB 2207 and 2208

There is no over abundance of white tails. You ready to pay to hunt because thousands of WIHA acres will disappear. They were horrible the first time around and won't be good for us at all. First one is easily solved with purple paint. It will handicap thousands of hunters in this state.

    HB 2207 and 2208

There are two bills that I feel we as sportmen need to be concerned with at this time. This information came in a KDWPT Legislative update. HB2207 This bill would require anyone hunting, shooting, fishing, fur harvesting or pursuing any bird or animal on private land to have written permission...

If that is true I know that warden pretty well.

    Now what?

I seeded 5 acres for native grass today. Gonna do 10 more next year but need to get my pond built and some more trees taken out first.

    Now what?

30 ft of defensible space is the absolute minimum. Depending on topography and other factors more may be required. Rule of thumb for other fire breaks is 1 1/2 times the expected flame height.

    Now what?

Spring in KS he'll have to check a hundred before he finds the right one.

    Now what?

I help a lot of folks burn because I enjoy it. Burned 2 places last year that hadn't burned in years. One guy the previous owner took fire out of the landscape to "help the quail" and the native grasses were being taken over by cedars, hedge, locust, etc. It was one of the most impressive fires...

    Now what?

Got both and a side by side I set up for burning starting next month. I worked 5 years on a prescribed fire crew for USFWS.

    Better Next Season

We've got family that farms around Wakefield. My dad can remember filling the bed of a pickup full by noon. Last 3 times we have hunted there its been slim pickens.

    GSP for waterfowl

I live in KS. The only time I could use my GSP for waterfowl was early teal season. Regular duck would have water temps far too cold even with a vest. They are not designed for cold water at all.

    Thinking of Novemeber??

I can take you to where I quail hunted as a kid and most of the waterways and hedgerows are gone. Used to be a farmer around here that would complain about low quail numbers and thought the season would be closed. He would be telling you this from the seat of his dozer as he pushed out another...
