    Where to hunt in iowa

Put the hand held G P S in the truck, and make some way points. It really helps the next time your in the same area.

Late season pheasants - Full choke? Modified?

This sounds like a clothing issue as much as it does a gun problem. I don't think anyone shoots well in a heavy coat, or with warm gloves. You might want to try some layering. I wear a light weight Orvis strap vest, over a gore-tex 'micros suede' shell, with either a fleece or goose down vest...

Wild pheasants along the Red River ( Texoma)

We hear them cackle when we are walleye fishing the Detroit river in the downtown area all the time. Drive 2 hrs. north to prime cover and they are scarce, go figure.

    Advice for week before Christmas?

Without a dog, ditch hunting would be a good bet.The rules for doing it legally are outlined in the hunting guide.Don't over look ditches along paved roads .They often see less pressure, because guys with dogs usually stay clear of fast moving traffic.Good luck.

Winter Weather Bunched 'Em in NW

What a great photo. The dog with the boots on, reminds me of how I felt the last time I hunted Kansas.

    greetings from michigan

As a life long bird hunter and shorthair owner, pheasant hunting is one of my favorite pastimes.Unfortunatly with bird #s the way they are here in Mi., I've been limited to "cyber-hunting" only when it comes to pheasants these days. That's how I ran across this website. We do have some excellent...
