We have stayed at the super delux in Desmet for a few years and like the place about 120.00 with my dog. 150.00 is fine if it’s better accommodations though. Someone mentioned the Kelly inn and Thunderbird lodge. checking today on availability.other suggestions welcome. Thanks

I’m in south central South Dakota right. Now in 2day Coffee shops and restaurants are a good introduction to getting land and paying a small fee or giving gifts is also normal My son and I do public and now dinruvate with help from a few locals Best of luck

It’s all good fun. The people we meet up there are usually so nice. My sons and I hunt mostly public land and get lucky to find some private. But our best memories are up in SD.

Permission P.s Best time to stop by any shop at a farm 4.30 to 5 and we eat a different diners and have bought lots of meals for other hunters and locals who have helped us. What’s 20 dollars in the scheme of the whole hunt up there. Like you all said . Add it up. It’s not cheap

We have gotten free permission mostly by offering to pay. Then they will always get a gift or something from us. We keep bottles of crown in the truck for just that occasion. Paid off in spades
