    2015-16 Hunting Reports & Pictures

My brother in law came down from Eveleth for thanksgiving and hunted with me Friday and Saturday. Moved 15 birds between the two days. Only one shot at a rooster. He missed it clean. Twice. Birds were on the edges of cattails and corn. Ice was still too thin to be walking on. He was pretty...

    Cut Foot

Thanks FC I figured she'd probably be out for the rest of the trip. Just wanna make sure it heals right. We have a week and a half trip planned for South Dakota in November

    Cut Foot

Ok guys, I'm up hunting in Northwestern North Dakota. My dog had a rough first day out here. She tangled with a barbed wire fence and ended up with a good sized cut on her leg. I cleaned it out.and put EMT Gel on it. It looks great this morning. I noticed her favoring one of her front feet last...

    Season Reports

Had a Christmas party tonight so I snuck out this morning and hunted close to home on some public land that gets hit pretty good. Had a 1/2 off powder on the ground from Friday. No bird sign anywhere. Lots of turkey and coyote tracks though

    Change of heart

Thanks Potatodigger1, I'm really excited to see how these pups turn out. Cain is an absolute machine. He's on the smaller size for a lab at 55lbs, and that's what I like about him. My female is 70lbs and all muscle. I'm expecting these pups to mature to be a nice medium size. My female isn't...

    Change of heart

I hunt a lot of sloughs that are either adjacent to, or that are actually in crop fields. I know it's not the easiest walking but it seems to produce the best for me. No matter what time of the season. Most of the time I've got knee high rubber boots on just in case it's a little wet. A lot of...

    Change of heart

I posted earlier this year about how after a few years of begging and pleading with my wife for another dog, she finally caved and gave me the go ahead. Instantly I decided I wanted a GSP. Well after a few months of planning and daydreaming I found myself torn between a GSP and another lab. A...

    Minnesota Slam

I have seen sharp tails in Mn but never targeted them. I have a friend with a cabin right between international falls and warroad on 600 acres who has a small population of sharptails on his ground. He limits himself to only shooting one per season

    Minnesota Slam

Anybody here ever harvested all of MN's upland game birds? How about all in one season? I've only had the pleasure of harvesting pheasants and the occasional ruffed grouse. I've seen woodcock but never had a clean shot. Never hunted far enough north for spruce grouse. Anybody ever harvest a...

    Demographics and

Under 40. Been hunting pheasants over 10 years. Habitat loss would be the biggest change. Also to go with that would be the lack of standing crops left for wildlife over the winter. Used to be almost every field had a few rows left for wildlife over the winter. Now the only crops left are ones...

    Any Waterfowlers from MN here?

Well I'm proud to say that I posted the first pics on the new forum. Hopefully they won't be the last

    Any Waterfowlers from MN here?

I think it's a good idea. I don't see why it wouldn't be worth trying. The main problem with the other sites IMO is there is a lot of younger people on there who have not come to realize that hunting is about having fun with friends and building memories. They're all geared towards showing off...
