Like ethanol? Get fond of food prices , taxes, good by pheasants

There is also the piece that Ethanol is not healthy for your engine and reduces fuel economy. The extra money you save at the pump is negated by the decrease in fuel mileage and the long term damage done to your engine.

    Reports

I have December 8-15 off of work, was going to head to SD again, but don't want to pay the money to have average hunting. I would like to try an area in another part of Minnesota, does anybody have some ideas for an area I towns to try hunting near that have public land. Other than around...

    Reports

The last 4 times I have headed out around the Brandon/Evansville area, I haven't seen a bird, not even a hen. Last year, even if I went out for an hour, I would pick up a bird. I don't think I will head back out until we get some snow. I am an avid snowmobiler, but I hope for pheasant hunting...

    New to MN

I know of a game farm out by Mobridge that paid for and released 500 birds the week before opener because numbers were down and they didn't want to disappoint their hunters. Who knows how many more they have purchased.

    Chaps/ Brush Pants

I have had the Gander Mountain Brush Buster pants for 3 years, they are on sale for 39.99. They have held up nicely, not a hole or rip in them. I just bought the Cabelas Gore Tex upland pants, so we'll see how those hold up.

    Mobridge-Reservation

Hello, I am headed to Mobridge at the end of October. I have only hunted public land one other time in SD. When I look at the map, the land to the west of the river around Mobridge all looks like Reservation. Also, there is WIA's on the reservation? What do I need to know if I decided to...

    2011 Crop harvest reports

I would think that the number of beans harvested would be somewhere in the 70-80 range when the report comes out this week.

    Opener

I was just wondering where everybody is heading for Minnesota Opener? I have to work Saturday morning, but will be out late afternoon and Sunday around Evansville near Alexandria. Not sure what to expect, but the beans are pretty much done and farmers are started on Corn. Whatever birds are...

    Prairie Storm FS Steel

True. It probably is no different than shooting #2 shot at them either. Like an idiot my eyes get big whenever a new product comes out!

    Prairie Storm FS Steel

Has anybody found this in the stores? I have been looking periodically at Cabelas and Gander and they don't have it. I have seen it a few places online.

    Dog Hunting (PLEASE HELP)

In Iowa and in most states, you need a license if you are "participating" in the hunt. This is up to the discretion of the officer. So, if you wife is handling ammunition, driving, working the dogs, picking up dead game or anything to aid in the hunt, even though she doesn't have a gun, she...

    Mn Wma and Wpa ?

I wish the MN Dnr would do the public hunting atlas annually like SD does. I ordered one that was printed last year from a bookstore for 10.00 shipped. SD does a free updated one each year.

    Star Tribune Article

I remember when I was in high school, for some reason, I was looking at the farm subsidy payouts. I thought to myself, I know the top 4 in our area were from the same family, one of them was a 16 year old girl and she had received an insane amount of subsidy money. A very inefficient program...

This sounds like more trouble on the horizon for Pheasant conservation. http://www.startribune.com/business/130169158.html
