I took a co-worker out yesterday and man was it warm! Still saw a lot of birds and finished with 5 for the day.

We had a really fun weekend out there. My Dad and I had a co-worker and his 14 year old son join us for the kid's first Pheasant hunt. We saw quite a few birds and ended with 8 for the weekend. I think the kid's hooked now! :)

What is everyone's plans for the opener? The dog and I can't wait to get out this weekend. Will be hunting around Burlington with my Dad.

I've talked to a few farmers around Burlington and they were cutting the last of their corn two weeks ago. Really looking forward to next weekend.

jlmatthew, I was looking through some old posts trying to glean some info and it looks like you've done some quail hunting in SE CO. My Dad is coming out from Oklahoma to join me for a weekend end of November for quail. Neither of us have been down there yet. Any suggestions on where to start...

3 of us got out for the day on Saturday. Saw about 75 birds total, but approximately 50 of them were in two big groups. Ended up with 3 roosters. Gorgeous day, good dogs, and great company. Doesn't get any better.

Keep it up Shorthair. Always enjoy the updates and stories.
