    Bird reports

Your December Hunt I have had great luck watching the state of Kansas start a program building cabins in some of their state parks. Most of them are greatly affordable and sleep up to 4 hunters. Might want to go on their web site. Good Hunting!

Dog got bit by Copperhead last night

With a little avoidance training you should be keeping a few around the house. Lefty, Where in Kansas are you usually hunting birds at? I try to hunt the extreme western area.

Revenge for snakes You might laugh but I believe that you porblem can be controlled with some guinne hens. Noise and sometimes bothersome but snake (and man) can not stand them. They eat anything including small snakes.

    My Dilemma

Dilema soloution Mr. Hyde, Try this. I had to do it with a partners adopted setter. Actually this is a good time of the year for training. Begin with birds. Planted birds and a check line. Assuming the dog understands the "whoa" command. Set the dog up for positive performance in which you...

    False Pointing

Was it a false point? Remember this phrase as its been used for many years in training dog handlers to work detector dogs.( I assure you that the principle is exactly the same) ALWAYS TRUST YOUR DOG! Remember after alll you are the one that trained it. Truth be told,,, as the wind whipped it...

A Pheasant hunting we go (Day #2)

The day started out around 0800 as one of our partners had to take kids to school. Hit the fields and was great until around 1000 and the wind started again. Brother shot a young bird early this morning. Saw plenty of birds again today but got up and rode the wind into the next state. Saw some...

I could not bring my old Brittany girl as she is now 11 years and loosing the battle to arthritis. It sure does make...

    Whats on your feet?

Boots One of the big reasons why they fell apart is that they (Danner) has found out that the boots(Danner Pronghorns) are made in China which increases the Danner Companies profit margin. I just dumpstered a pair of the original USA made boots after a 4 year stint with them.
