Byrd what area do you hunt? I sometimes hunt the Cherokee park area and around new castle and both have a pretty good population of grouse depending on the year.

I have had a few fly away with my arrow so I always try to pin them to a log now. LOL I have had a few scare the crap out of me when im trying to sneak through the trees and they jump up 3 ft away.

I think I will try Turkey hunting this year. Thanks for the reminder.

Well I had some free time this afternoon so I hit some of the WIA south of Otis and Akron. Did see a couple birds way out in front but not much action. It was still nice to let the dog work one last time for the season. Here is a picture of some turkey's. Couldn't believe they let me get so close.

Could have been a local dog. Had a GSP growing up and every now and then he would run off for hours at a time. Dad got a call once from a friend that had found him 4 miles away from the house. He always came back on his own.

Elk,deer,pronghorn,coyote,goose,dove,pheasant,rabbit,prairie dog, I also like to shoot grouse with my bow while elk hunting but don't really try to hunt them. Would like to add bear and turkey to the list next season.

Morgan county still has some good places.. I even have some private land places that are good in Adams County. I plan to put some work in and clean out some of the coyotes! I sure wish everyone would do the same.

HC I was sick most of the time so I didn't get much of a chance to fish:mad:. We were staying right next to table rock lake and it looked like it would be awesome fishing. I will have to make another trip out there in the summer.

Mark I have been in Branson Mo all week but I will give you a call when I get back to Colorado. Hightail I do not have any papers on her. I got her from a pet shop as a family pet and was told she was full blood. She is my first bird dog and she has done really good.
