We got 9 birds. It was slim pickings in Webster, so we headed southwest of Bristol. There are no birds around the bean fields and found our best luck around corn stubble with CREP land next to it. The birds were holding and the snow was deep on the edges of the cattails. It was up to our chest...

the pheasants are in the corn and cat tails but very hard to find. We are wondering if there's any land south of Aberdeen to hunt or Watertown.? How's everyone else doing out there this week?

My brothers, Dad, and I will be in Day county next week and was wondering how the bird numbers were out there? I see that there is a lot of snow out there and will probably be hunting a lot of cattails. Any suggestions on where to hunt when it is cold out?

We are heading out there during thanksgiving week..We hunt that week tuesday-friday..We usually hunt in Day County (city of Webster) on CRP land. We have seen a lot of birds during the mid 2000's, but not much last trip in the fall of 2012.

We are traveling from Michigan to hunt in Webster, SD and was wondering if we should stay around the area or head to others? We don't mind driving to other areas in the state. Thanks! Steve

Thanks for the reply..One of the reasons we go in that direction is due to all the public land to hunt! We have had great bird seasons there in the past, but didn't find much the last time we were out there ( 2 years ago) We are just trying to see if we could pay someone for some fields that...
