found good birds #s in Phillips, Yuma, kit carson, and Sedgwick.. so far the vote goes to sedgwick.. but kit carson is close to home and holds enough birds with a few less people to boot! The cover isn't as a good, but after dec, I look forward to hitting the spots that have solid cover for them!

I am from MN... I grew up in a small town of less than 2500 near fargo-moorhead and got my BA-biology from St. Olaf College in Northfield MN this spring.. .so this is my first year living out of state. Grad school will likely bring me back to the midwest though! Colorado has been a blast...

As you can see in the bottom pic we shot 3 yr classes of birds.. 3/6 were juveniles, 2/6 last years birds, and one (the last bird shot) with 1/2" spurrs from 2 years ago.

This will seem a bit ridiculous, but I shoot #2s or #4s Steel mag loads by fed or winchester Hi-Vs 3", through a skeet/IC setup.. I like steel because heavy lead loads push my head off the gun after the first shot. I shoot birds at about 15/25yds as I draw pretty fast over a pointer... mostly...

I went to St. Olaf college in Northfield.. If you want pheasants that way... go towards the SE.. along iowa border and such.. if not make longer trips towards the SW.. You could easily get into ruffies form the cities by heading north.
