Where did you hear that? Black has been in GSP lines from inception. The AKC does not recognize Black as an acceptable color for the show ring, but you can run in Hunt tests, FT's, etc...

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I believe the KDWP reports are more about tourism $ than the truth. I'm not saying there aren't birds out there, but not the best in recent memory. Just look at deer hunting and the commercialism that has spawned...

Danners are overpriced junk. They are very comfortable, but as the others have said they leak like a sieve. I burnt thru 2 pair in 2 yrs. The stitching has let loose on the toes and they have basically fallen apart after only a little use. If I were you I'd look elsewhere.

Not to sound rude, but the easiest thing to prevent is a gunshy dog. However one of the hardest things to cure is a gunshy dog. I'd suggest you find a good pro trainer and let them work with your dog. If you do try it use birds, birds, birds, and more birds to get your pups excitement up and...

THanks for the welcome! I prefer to hunt with an OU either in 12 or 20, love to carry the 20 but shoot a bit better with the 12 (not that I'm a good shot with either:)) I currently run GSP's and have an older lab that gets the call on certain ocassions.
