We didn't see record numbers by any means, but we saw enough to keep the dog and I interested. I couldn't have been happier with my shorthair, he pointed and retrieved many more birds than I was expecting for his age. Here is a pic of the two of us after one of our fields.

Here are some pics of the box I built a few years ago. I really liked it except it weighed a ton and, like all wood boxes, it had to be replaced. This last year a buddy and I built the aluminum box that is pictured.

I haven't seen many, but there's a breeder here in Ks (outback kennels) that seems to have them often. I bought one last fall, and I've been happy with him!

My friend and I got the bright idea to build a fancy aluminum dog box, and it turned out really well; however, it did take us about 4 months! Materials were only $250, but if you factor in our labor it may not have been cost efficient! lol We'll see if the photo shows up, I've never used...

I have a Stihl FS 40 C-E and I haven't had any issues with it (6 years old now). If you are dealing with a Stihl they have top-notch customer service in my experience.

It's a bit further west, but the hotel on the east end of Mankato allows pets in the room at no extra charge. The owners are also very pleasant.
