This is Percy, a Llewellin. He's about 17 months old and is officially in his first season along with being my first bird dog. Lots of things to still figure out! :D
I'm headed to Aberdeen tomorrow. It's been crazy to watch the forecast. The first 10 day forecast was showing 40/20 as highs/lows. Now it's gonna be 70/50. Just nuts how I had to go from figuring out how to stay warm at night because we're camping to now figuring out how to keep the dog cool...
I've been satisfied with my purchase of the same unit. It's my first collar on a my first bird dog so the remote's ease of use has been important to me.
I only use one (Franchi Instinct L 20 ga) mainly because I only own two and the other one (J.C. Higgins 20 in 12 ga.) goes unused because it's a fixed full choke so it makes it tough to choose to upland hunt with.
I've had my 20 ga Intinct L (steel receiver) for about 1.5 years now. It's a joy to carry in the field and hasn't failed me at all. I've had no concerns over the auto safety.
Thank you for the report and the break down, AteUp. Using a gun maker that already produces a 16 ga (F.A.I.R.) makes sense on why they were able to produce it out of the blue (that's what it felt to me at least).
I agree that it felt pretty good in the hand and I agree that it would be nice to shoot one before pulling the trigger on one (not that I'm in the market after buying the Instinct L in 20 ga last year).
