Thank you very much.
We had a very warm spell so I brush hogged it one day. I wish I had a drill but I do not so the following day I rototilled it.
The old stalks were tough and the root systems were larger than I expected. I am going to need to do it again before reseeding with a short...
Thank you very much. Great boots on the ground info.
I had suspected I needed to cut it early but this confirms that thought. With the warm spell I was able to get it down. I don't replant (with short term clover/oat mix) until May so I have almost 60 days for it to break down.

Great story and sounds like he was a great man. Reminded me precisely of my relationship with my dad. You are blessed.
I am sure he is extremely proud of your success in life and how you have taken to small game hunting and the outdoors.
Seems like a good project. Sure would like to do some quail. Someone convince me that I have the time to raise and release quail. Would it even be worth it in very north central PA?
I have a solid woodcock population. I am way off base to consdier they may displace or disrupt the local...

I like it. Gosh it looks all original. Not only do those old bikes not go up the hills as fast as they used to but I also think the hills get steeper every year too. lol.
For one of my bikes I have added bags on the rear, headlamps, and painted it camo. Its now my turkey hunting machine.
this is great. I have never been on the Ft. Indiantown Gap Installation but I would like to see it sometime. I wonder what 4500 acres of native grassland habitat looks like?
