What is the going rate to mount a pheasant where you live? Place here quoted my $275. Seems a little steep to me.

I have heard that a good method of plucking pheasants is to boil them. But my questions is how long do you boil them? Doesn't this cook the meat as well? Does anyone else know of any tricks to make it less messy?

When does your season open? Here on Long Island, NY our season starts Nov 1st and goes to Dec 31st.

There are some good deer here on LI, if you know where to go (I am still looking). I got into pheasant hunitng last year (got 2). The problem is most of the area are public lands, and are hit VERY hard. It is better if you know someone with property.
