lots of 3” options out there. But you might as well go 2 3/4” 20 ga. If I only had a 28, I would want the ability to shoot 3”. But I have a 20 so not as interested in 3” 28. If 2 3/4” will get the job done, then the 48AL will make it happen.
Interesting. I’ve been shooting M but I have a LM for my 16 gauge. I guess I’ll pattern it this off season and see but its a great choke for dove in my 28 so it should be good in my 16 for pheasant.
I recently bought a Franchi 48 AL 28 Deluxe. The person before me had taken off the original bead and put on a screw on fiber optic bead. It wouldn’t stay straight, so I took it off. I was planning on having a factory bead put back on it but now I’m considering just shooting it without the...
I’ve always been a both eyes open guy. Always thought I was right eye dominant. Then I started watching videos and reading about how you can be semi-dominant in one eye. Its true. I’m only partially right eye dominant. I can focus better at times when I squint my left eye. I don’t shoot...
I have been looking at a SBE3 in 28 gauge. I see it has a carbon fiber rib. Anyone have or hear of any issues with that rib on a gun you may knock around some?
what worked: My old Filson vest, Marlin Model 90, Salomon Quest boots, A5 Sweet Sixteen
What didn't: filson wax. I needed to recoat my vest so I did about a month before I went to SD. After 3 days of hunting, you can't even tell I did anything to it. Maybe that's how its supposed to be, but...
Very nice shotgun. I have one with the corncob foreend. I was at a local gunshow just before I bought it and a guy had a newer one with an english stock and vent rib barrel. He wanted $650 for it and I couldn’t get him to come down on the price. I asked if he would be there the next day and...
Seen similar in Texas. One ranch is trying to eradicate wild hogs. Ranch next door is selling hog hunts and is trying to breed more. Those hogs inevitably spill over on the ranch trying to get rid of hogs. Creates some issues on occasion. But its going to happen.
In general, I’m against it...
I guess I can’t understand why. Some of us don’t live where there are pheasants and going to a preserve may be one way of getting in some extra outside time. I get that its not as challenging as wild birds but don’t blame the hunters.
