I am also a solo hunter. I will be in Miller from the 2nd to the 12th. I have a young pointing lab that I let run a little(50/60yards), but she is controllable. Like you I hunt public land and some ditches. This will be my 8th season, but I don't really have any honey holes to share. I'm 62...

    Needing a new elec collar

I'm not sold on the GPS collars yet. The best Garmin has to offer has a 1 1/2 second delay on the GPS signal. As you guys know, a good bird dog can cover a lot of ground in a second and a half. I can see where it would help locating a dog on point, but I just can't see spending $7-800 for that.

That's good to hear! I have to run an errand in Tonasket tomorrow. I'm setting some time aside to do some training/hunting. Any tips on areas between Wenatchee and Tonasket?

They are pretty common around here, and I think the beak would be yellow if it was a bald eagle.

    Pheasant count

I've been going the second week of Nov. for the last couple of years. No problem getting a room, the crowds have thinned a little, and the weather is still decent.

    New user, information

I'm sure that Uguide runs a quality operation, but if it's not for you then I have a few suggestions for you. First go to SD fish and game web site, and download the maps for your GPS, you do have a GPS don't you? The map shows all of the public property in SD, and it's color coded so you...
