Native and other foods I too have used Native, but based on the recommendation of my trainer, he has switched his entire kennel to Precise (http://www.precisepet.com). He used to endorse Native, but also noticed more "pickiness" among his dogs than normal. I have been on Precise for 2 months...

You also need to consider the type of cover you will be hunting in. Boykins are smaller spaniels compared to Springers, and in some of the thick stuff found in South Dakota and neighboring states, that little dog will get his butt handed to him after awhile. Lord knows after a day of walking...
