i am a retired k9 division commander for the local sheriffs department. funny thing is i got intoo working dogs for a living from my experieeences with hunting dogs as a boy. now grandpa had german shorthairs and english setters, which i enjoyed after working thousands of dogs...
what bird?
shoot all the fun for me is watching the dog find and point the bird and if not a pointerr any flusher is fine . most of the time i dont even take tthe game i reeally enjoy the dogwork .
get your feet wet
best thing to do is try to obtain a complete set of rules and give your dog a fair assessmaent of your capabilities as a team know the rules and jump right in , you and the dog will have a blast
