Thanks again everyone. Makes me a little nervous being out there opening day of gun season. Hoping I can find some private ground to hunt to avoid competing with the deer hunters on the WIHA for at least part of the time I am there.

I am looking to visit Kansas the week after Thanksgiving. I understand "gun" deer season opens that week. Is there ample WIHA for both deer hunters and bird hunters. Looking to hunt central and Eastern Kansas. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

I was out there about 10 years ago hunting south east Kansas. We didn't do very well. Making a return trip this year. Hoping for the best. I plan to go after thanksgiving. Hoping scenting conditions improve by then.

How dry is it? Hearing reports of it being very dry and maybe that is limiting number of birds being found. Maybe more birds will be found once it rains and cools off some?
