I can't get on the forum anymore

I’m trying to wear more hearing protection, last 2 outings I’ve gotten a line on 5 coveys by hearing. No one else could hear a peep.

Dog scenting where birds have been . . . how do I find where they are?

Lots of variables here.. yes they could be close, yes they left the roost at daylight to feed, yes they are within 200 yards loafing. Yes a coyote flushed them 20 minutes before you showed up. Cover ground!!! Edges, food bushes near by the roost. Not sure where your at if its central ks where...

    Field trials

I met my best hunting friend 10 years ago at a nahvda na test, it was worth it just for that!

Dude that gave me a good laugh, but as we speak I’m packing cured meat with gallons of water to go do it again… maybe your right.

    Field trials

I’ve ran 2 through the na and left it there, too far for me to be more involved.

    Field trials

Nahvda na test is really laid back, not difficult in my opinion. Variable is young dogs have bad moments that can effect score. The UT test is more intense, find some guys in your chapter to see how far you want to go. Good place to meet like minded people!

    Blue Grouse question

I’ve always found them pretty tough later it gets, they should be in there winter stage up high eating new growth pine needles. Clear ground should help. Maybe some afternoon loafing spots to warm up, or if dog gets birdie meander around till o e gets nervous and flies out of trees… good luck!
