What I have found in 23 years of hunting wily roosters is that it depends on on the existing conditions on whether some birds will hold tight or you should stop before the end....sometimes they all go together, it just depends on the weather, what is at the end of the field that you are walking...

Group of 8 all family, limited out on both days...excellent dog work, my pointing lab Remi had some excellent points. Lost only 4 birds all weekend....it was warm in the afternoon, good thing we were done by 1400hrs.... Here are some pics..... Greg

Most bird farms/kick and shoots do not allow anything bigger than #6's........I only use #5's on "wild birds"....I use #6's or #7.5's at bird farms such as SteelForks or Quail Run.... Greg
