Thanks for the info! :cheers: I'll called and talked to Carol, and got some good info/details. After a few days of hunting, I'm sure the dogs will be whooped. So it will give them a nice rest, while we put down some p-dogs. :thumbsup:

How can you tell if a bird is gut shot, or not? It's easy to tell on a 200 lb deer, but hard to see on a bird that hasn't been gutted.

I'm not too worried about driving a little. I figure we could make a day of it....driving out to a p-dog area, while stopping at a few public spots for birds. Does any one know what area we should go to, to even start looking? Any near by towns, where we could start? I'm just itching to shoot...

I know, this is a pheasant forum.....but I'm looking to kill some time between pheasant hunts, while the dogs rest. My cousin's and I are heading to the De Smet area in early November for some outdoor adventures. Could any one point me in the direction of getting on some P-dogs while we're in...
