Yes, the plan is to hunt public land. Unfortunately this is the only week we're able to do it as my hunting partner can't get vacation time any later in the year.

How busy is Aberdeen during opening week of pheasant season (monday-Friday)? If I drive 30-45 minutes outside of the city each day am I going to be able to find land to hunt that isn't already packed with other hunters?

I'm thinking of starting with Bobwhites and Chukars for the first year.

I don't plan on offering hunts. Just raising some birds on unused land to give me something more to do and maybe make a few bucks to offset the bird dog hobby.

What would you say the minimum acreage should be for a game bird farm. Primary focus would be raising quail, chukar, and pheasant. Obviously size will depend on how many birds I would plan on raising but I'm looking for a general idea as to a starting point.
