    Not much for us around Glen Elder. Saw maybe 18-20 pheasant, mostly hens and 3 quail.

    Yes I agree! Try to drag friends along but most h?ve younger kids and can get the time off work. The group I go with started of 15+ over 20 years ago and I think we are down to 5 maybe 6 this year.

    Honestly, I would prefer not to buy! I'm simply offering that as a good gesture to show that I'm serious. I don't know about you but I dont have the big money to put up a guided or an outfitter. Just looking to keep the tradition alive and keep guys interested in going with a few more birds.

    Well with the continued decline in bird numbers over the years the group of guys I have hunted with over the last 20 years around Glen Elder lake has also declined. Our group this year is looking like only 4-6 guys with a couple dogs. We have always hunted mostly public hunting and many years...

    Absolutely! My dad took me to Glen Elder for the first time when I was 12 as another bird dog, didnt even carry a gun. Been back almost every year since! My father has passed away but I still go to the spot every year I shot my first bird be side him, over by fishermans bridge. :cheers:

    Bobman, It is a Baikal mp153. Noticed the hairline crack last year while cleaning. Looks like the crack has started at at the gas adjustment nut meets the barrel.

    Late season planning

    I've hunted Mitchell, Osbourne and Ellis CO. Later in the season around Thanksgiving and plan on trying again this year. Mostly public or Walk-in and done well. With that said, It was prior to the drought hitting the state hard. Birds are there just have to be will to work and walk.
