This was a good day.

I hunted that area for 6 days. Walk-in and private land. Lots of quail when found them, cover is very thin. When I would find a covey and then hunt the singles I would find another covey. I unfortunately had a couple of days with 20 mph winds.

Wow...Those are some great looking Brittanys. I have 2 myself and just love the breed.

I have had only one encounter with a porcupine, in 20 years. Be sure and use pliers close to the entered point to pull out the quills, so that you don’t push poison into the dog. Skunks are at least a every other year occurrence.

Thank you. I'm leaving Friday. Hunting east ( quail ) first then head west. Be home thanksgiving day.
