    Not used to the GFP shopping gauntlet

    Went to Ont Canada in early Oct. To grouse hunt.arriving at border and was told next year we had to purchase license before entering with gun. Going again Tue. Will see if we get same stories.

    Canada Gamebird Ban

    Returned from Ontario Sunday with 2 limits of grouse. No problem with US Customs. Still very green foliage. Returning next week hope some leaves drop.

    Bad News Knee - Now the Good News!

    Pushing 72 and have fell into my share of holes in SD. Never hurt anything. Now painting stairway wall and torn meniscus from painting. Told wife done painting safer to hunt. Don't think I will win.

    Lyme disease -- NE1 believe they have it or been diagnosed with it?

    NE Minn be working in woods at home .got deer tic this week. Hard to see it but finally remove it. 1+ foot of snow in places yet. Dr got me on meds.

    Visited SD…..

    BB I live half dozen miles from Kendalls smoke fish house. Farmer friends love their fish. Gave fish to morning coffee farmers and didn't ask for anything . Relations are built and they offer when in town. They alway wonder how them ore ships float.

    NE Minn 20+below with Hibbing at 39 below last night. SE of Ely was 50 below not wind chill.

    10 UggM start for opener

    Hunting partner cant wait for 10 in SD. We leave SD and for morning hunt in ND. Hard on dogs and me iam 70.

    SE North Dakota

    Hunted SE Tuesday and Wednesday hard walking in crp. Snow deep enough birds couldn't run in crp . Cattails are not frozen.

    Back from Britton area last night. This was second trip and still lots of corn and cattails are not frozen. Could not let dogs in them at all.

    SD Youth hunt

    Hunted NE last year granddaughters first time. 85 and sunny first day by noon, to warm for dogs. Next day same but she was done by noon. Wounderful experience have fun

    Keystone pipeline leaks 210,000 gallons of oil onto northeastern South Dako farm land

    Hunted Amherst area this past week. Talked to farmers and pipe guys over coffee . 30 inch pipe and 1400 psi. They used concrete saddles over pipe to keep it from floating during installation. Crack was close to saddle over 1 foot long and several inches wide. Concerns this is only first...

    Any reports from hunters ?

    Left Dakotas this morning. Hunted SE North Dakota and NE South Dakota Sunday afternoon through Thursday. High wind Sunday and Monday 50mph gusts. Hunted mostly private and got 24 birds ND was better for us. 2old guys 60 and 67 and 2 dogs both 10 . Less birds but will be back in 23 days.

    Hunting reports from youth hunt

    Took my 16 year old granddaughter onher first S.D. youth hunt this weekend. Hunted NE of Aberdeen on Saturday. Saw about 20 birds but was 83 degrees and to hot for us and dogs.Sunday about same number of birds and she had limit by 2:30, awesome. I guess high school trap really helped. Working...

    Pheasant Renest

    Talked to farmer friend in SD today. He is not in drought hard hit area and say they will have corn this year. Seeing birds now about pigeon to small grouse size now. I wouldn't know how old that would be.

    Holster

    Have used a Peregrine quickshot holster for about 5 years.works well in thick cattails and in very cold temps,as you can switch hands. You need a stiff belt and needs to be snugged up.
