Is it difficult to find places to hunt them? I would like to start but not sure how hard it would be to locate / acquire access to hunt them. Been doing some research on line and was really surprised by what some of the guides / outfitters charge if you go that route.

i'm heading to the Gregory area in 172,800 seconds (48 hours) not that I'm counting......

Last year we ran into two of them in ND. One was in a grassy draw right by the edge of a corn field and the second was actually in a corn field. One of my buddies springers got into it with the one in the corn field. Not real bad and was able to pull the quills in the field.

Trying a new area with some friends this year and wondering if anyone on the forum has hunted the area. We will be hunting in the Garden City area in early November and would like to hear from anyone that has hunted in that area. Thanks!!

I would rule out the bear as they will run from a dog when they are able. I worked for the federal gov in the YCC program when I was in high school and the first thing they taught us about being in the woods was if you came across a bear to bark like a dog.....

pheasant hunt The shells worked fine. I usually like 5's but the 6's seemed to work equally well. I am usaully hunting late Oct / early Nov so am not shooting too many long shots and work with close working flushing dogs.
