Love the smile on that kid's face. We are heading out tomorrow to hunt Friday and Saturday, just in time for the cold front and hopefully the birds will hold tight.

Not my intent at all, just reporting that the farmers had been seeing more birds and they were all to glad to report that pheasant numbers have improved. Hopefully, that is true across most of the range.

Was just outside of Hesston today on a gravel road right at sunset. Saw 1 rooster on the edge of a milo field, and a quarter of a mile up from that had another rooster sail across the road and land in a soy bean field for a good night's rest. I couldn't wait and had to call the guys I hunt with...

Well, it was better than I had hoped for, as far as quail go. Disappointed in the pheasant numbers though. Four of us busted 7 coveys, limiting out with 32 quail. Only saw 11 or 12 pheasants, 6 roosters, killing one and losing another. Also added 1 rabbit. It was still a great day to be hunting...
