traveling i'm in topaz lake nevada. i gladly drive 1800 miles to bust roosters in central iowa

crock pot. or soak in buttermilk overnite. bread,cook slowly on a pan.mashed potatoes or brown rice,with bernaise sauce. meal for a king and queen. the buttermilk tenderises the meat and takes some of the game taste out. mmmmmmmmmm,mmmmmmmmmm good!

opener our annual hunt was very good! central iowa,all young birds! my hunt was cut short because of the snow coming in the rockies. i don't want to get snowed in on my way home.

nice dog. to me ,planted birds are better than no birds! enjoy all your hunting trips and experiences. the memories will be priceless,no matter where or what you hunt.

lemars our group hunts the storm lake,fonda and newell area. all farmland, we usually do ok. unless all the corn is gone. just go out hunt and have a great time!

my experiences the birds scent doesn't travel as much with snow. the birds hunker down to conserve energy? our hunts in iowa,the pheasants definetly hold more in the snow and you step on or near them much more. the same thing when i grew up in wa. state.tracks will end where they stop and...

yeah it's different. the birds hunker down,the dogs won't get a scent as easily. i grew up in wa. state and i also hunt in iowa.all the same,a different type and style of hunting. here in reno,the quail seem to not have alot of scent. my dog seems to walk on to them more.thanks.
