    Best training DVD

I would take a look at "The Silent Command System" by Rick and Ronnie Smith. This will give a little info http://www.huntsmith.com/

    Land price$$$$$$

Parts of NW Iowa are averaging betrween 13-14K per acre. one peice went for 20,990. Wind breaks, tree lines and everything else is being taken out to put under the plow. Certainly not good for the wildlife.

    Moving

As for dogs, I have a pointer, setter, and a wirehaired pointing griffon. As far as training i am looking at finish work with the pointer and some steady work with setter. Both got a litle sloppy and just need to work on a couple of things for fall trial season. thanks

    Mid-North Region of NSTRA

I would have to get different dogs. Keeping the ones I have now in a 40 acre field would tough. They would be out of bounds more than in. I would like to try it though.

    field trials

Some are fun, but i would say that most are competetive and taken somewhat seriously. I would suggest trying to attend some in your area and see which game you want to try. you can pick from American Field which would include shooting dog and horse back stakes, NSTRA which is a timed event...

Can you tell how far ....

On one of my old pointers, i could guess within a couple of feet as to how far he was from a bird. His head and tail stayed the same but his stance would be a little different depending on the distance. With the dogs I have now, the griffon's stance is the same but the birds are close when she...

    Basketball Kansas

I would agree KU is a good defensive team. i would also say that if they continue to turn the ball over like they have been that will lead to those easy transition baskets and that will not be good for Kansas.

    Basketball Kansas

Let's see, KU should have an easier time against MI than they would have against VCU and VCU lost by 25 to MI and they were never in the game. I think I would be a little more worried about the Maize and Blue and the roll they are on.:)

    New photobucket!!!! :(

Old photobucket is gone. There has been quite a discussion on the Upland Journal board regarding it and possible solutions to using it. Most of the poeple are not very happy with the new Photobucket and are looking for other venues to use. Adobe is soming out with a new storage and sharing...

    Live Pheasants

Depending on how old your newest is, IMHO, pheasants are to big for first bird introductions. I would consider using quail or wing locked pigeons. I introduce birds when the pups are pretty young and a pheasant would more than likely scare the hell out of a 12 to 16 week old pup. If younger than...

    CRP look up

Have you looked at Four Brooks by Milaca? I have participated in many FDSB trials there. If you need the name of someone I can probably help get that to you.

    Whoa board training

Similar as to when using the whoa post. the dog will stop before he receives pressure from the rope. Mix it up. don't stop in the same place or stop dog before the table. Maybe come from the other direction. The pup is anticipating what is happening. Try the process off of the table. Good luck
