Amarillo's nice too. I've talked to the breeder in OK a few times. He seems like a great guy with a good kennel. He was willing to board my dog w/ training anytime I was back down to Sill for school. For a price of course.
If my spring litter falls through I may be contacting him.
Thanks, this is good to know before wasting my time. We duck hunted there a bunch this year. I refuse to talk about the excitement of other hunters hunting my spread.
Good to see another hunter who plans like I do.
Good thread here to help confirm there are birds out there. A buddy and I hunted NE Co and quickly learned we need dogs for this. We did have a rooster flushed by the duck lab my buddy had. My dog got tired and walked by me. He truly is a house dog and we are not yet pheasant hunters.
Anyways...
Sorry for the loss. I know that day will come for my golden (non-hunter) and can only imagine. He's a great dog. I hope he doesn't get jealous of the DD to much though.
I looked at Krull's kennel a few times. Great bloodlines.
May I ask why you didn't get another DD and instead chose to go...
Beautiful dog. What kennel?
Can I set you straight by just saying "military"
I found DDs from a Command Sergeant Major of mine in 2010. I was truly amazed by his dog and it's abilities. Then I was living in TN. I contacted guy in east TN who was having a litter while I was in Afghanistan...
To be honest if you're not concerned about fire ratings you can take an old military or school locker and use it for locking gun storage until you can afford a bigger stronger safe. $100 gun cabinets are about the same just with some felt gun holders. You can find used lockers online for around...
I too am down in the Springs. No dog yet but will have a DD next season. Probably to late now, but posting to this thread in hopes of meeting others for future hunts and the possibility of getting my first pheasant.
Ok, I have seen "drop camps" on a lot of sites. This is my first year at elk and I would love to camp and hunt horseback. This may not work for me this year as I attempt to figure it all out. However the question here is where do I get information on these drop camps. I am reading my way through...
This will be my first year trying elk at all. I am researching GMUs at the moment but do plan to put in for a draw. Goal is to go with the bow just for the experience of being in the woods if nothing else. I'll also be grabbing an OTC as another attempt to get the first elk. I'd be happy with a cow.
