    Bird sightings

Copper Nickel is a many time champion stud Pointer. The female is out of Elhew bloodlines which is also a very highly sought after champion bloodline.

    Bird sightings

Still a nice show, congratulations! Hope the dogs pads mend well. I'm going to start running my GSP in the Fall. I'm hoping to get a Copper Nickel English Pointer this summer as well. The list is a little long though. Maybe I'll run into you in the Fall. You didn't run Stephan's Star dog...

Training a weimaraner, tips and conversation!

Where is the dog on: Here, Heel, and Whoa. I always recommend fully breaking on a dog in these areas before putting any birds down.

    Adopt a wildlife area

Thanks Troy! I may reach out to you from time to time asking for help with work plans I will need to submit. I'm hoping in the near future (hopefully next season '17) to get some food plots established. I agree with prior comments. Always time to complain about lack of game but crickets...

    Adopt a wildlife area

Awesome! I'm looking to start the first year with just 5 or 6 people. I'm sure we will all have a lot to learn. After we get a handle on it then I think we can expand the group. The DNR will provide some training to ensure we are prepared to take on the task and help with some equipment...

    Adopt a wildlife area

I am in the process of adopting a wildlife area and looking to see if anyone is interested in participating. Typical involvement of time to keep area clean, reposting of signage and other basic maintenance would be involved. If your interested please reach out and based on the geographic area...

    NSTRA Trial

I know that some of the AKC trials are run on private ground on wild birds. I saw some footage on YouTube out on the east coast on Wild Grouse.

    NSTRA Trial

One of the biggest differences is that judges have less influence with NSTRA than AKC. At NSTRA typically the dog that finds the most birds wins. With AKC trials the judges have a lot more influence on who they decide to receive first.

    Coyotes

Just out of curiosity which club was in Wisconsin? I just joined a club and they started doing something similar and they have had broods as well.

Game Farm with birds left for walkons

Go on YouTube and search Lily Lo. Look at those training videos, they are great. They cover the Gibbons/West training methods.

Game Farm with birds left for walkons

The guy I get quail from said it would be sometime in the back half of May when he would start having birds. That leaves about 6ish weeks of down time without birds which is good for the dog and allows you to go back and reinforce any yard or retrieving work if needed.
