The state, every state, uses its population prediction to determine the harvest statistics. They know how many birds hunters supposedly kill before the season even starts.

Are you encountering any thorns or anything like that? I hunt antelopes in some short grass areas where we also see sharptails, I wear cargo pants and they work fine.

Who was successful in the duck lottery? I had one preference point and I got one.

I wouldn't want to eat all the pheasants a guy could kill with 2 cases. I figure these will last awhile.

I hope they all go to SD. It's been nice that so many icefishermen have started going straight to SD and ND. Now if the bird hunters will too that would be great.

Bird season starts in August in Alaska. The have limits of ptarmigan and grouse like 5/15, 10/20, some areas even more like 50 ptarmigan. That sounds fun. A month there would probably be all the bird hunting a guy needed for the year.

I didn't go today. I can only go during the midday and its too hot today.

I am planning on going after doves many times this year. I see a lot when I am not hunting, hopefully this continues. Good luck.
