Got 4 mountain quail within 10 mins, 4 shots, 4 quail..... couldnt believe it, 28er got it done ;) got in a Lil' fly fishing as well...:)

mountain quail hunting today in the sierra's just a few miles up the rd....lot more snow, but birds were on the south slops where the sun melted most of the snow

Saw this mountain quail today above a creek...there getting big and plump!!!

Yep Cabelas in Reno very lame, not much stock or never has my size in clothing, Scheels in Sparks NV is much better on stock and more helpful by far :thumbsup:

Kworth, your best bet is to look for mountain quail at the 3500-5000ft areas or just below the snow line :thumbsup:

28er harvested a few more mountain quail today Lots of birds, I mean a lot! one big covey flushing but they stayed low so couldnt get a lot of shots off, birds were calling back and fourth most of day so that helped....

Got 3 (only 2 in pic) today but was wanting to get a fall turkey as well. ran into at lest 4 coveys but cover is so thick it was hard getting shoots off, you could hear em flush but no see em... and talk about steep canyons...but pursuit payed off
