    Steel Forks is about an hour east of colorado springs. You should be able to find a post on here about the farm in the colorado section. Other than that I don't know of any bird farms in the southeast part of the state. You might check out Kansas, depending on your route back to Texas.

    Mt Princeton Hot Springs pool is about 10 miles south. There is areas to hike as the valley is surrounded by National Forest.     Staying in Buena Vista December 21-28

    I live 22 miles s of BV. Currently I am at least 5 hours from the closest marginal bird hunting, and 3ish from a preserve. You might get into some ducks in the San Luis Valley, but its been cold here, so it has been brutal down there. Everything including the river will probably be frozen.

    The birds west of Meeker are released. Don't know if the bird farm is still there, but that is where they would come from.

    Quail Numbers

    I'm headed out towards Pratt just afert the 1st of the year. Will be looking for quail, shot enough pheasant previous 4 trips to Kan. Any of you guys have any info on quail numbers from Dodge City to Pratt and on south itwould help a lot. Will be just me, and two decent dogs. Thanks.

    Prairie Chickens & Sharptails

    New at posting to the board, but have lurked a while. Thought that I should weigh in on this one. Me and my enitre family find both chickens, and sharptail outstanding table fare. Yes it depends on how you cook it. If one does not intend to eat what they shoot, then....... If anybody needs good...
