Saw a lot of birds but only got 3 between three guys? Where the birds you saw in fields you could hunt or just saw them while driving? Generally I see a lot of birds on lands not open to hunting, but I did not even see that this weekend.

Hunted the Burlington area, saw 2 hens all weekend and did not hear much shooting at all. Saw very little sign in the snow, looks like another tough year in that area.

I have hunted the Round up the last few years. Opening weekend is a zoo. Personally I would be more worried about the other hunters than your son. A few times I have teaned to with other hunters, and it was a bit scary. Once birds start to fly people loose all common sense.

Not sure about the number of fields or miles I have put on but Days hunted- 4 Birds harvested- 11 On all but one day I was done before 1 pm.

Sorry to hear about your dog. I would still head out if I where you, I hunt solo and with out a dog and have very good luck. While a dog makes it easier you certainly do not have to have one to be successful.

I hunted around Burlington today. Cold start but hit upper 40's before noon. Did some exploring early and did not put up any birds. I have a couple of spots that have been producing birds later in the day. Hit my first spot kicked up 4 roosters and bagged 2. Took a break for lunch then headed...

Pretty humbling day, shot great opening weekend, went 6 out of 7. Missed 5 in a row today, managed to bag the last two I shot at. Not sure what my deal was, at least I was alone and no one witnessed my lack of shooting ability

Sure was windy today, still managed to limit out by 1 pm. I did not see a ton of birds but the ones I did see where in range. One of the better opening weekends. Nothing like hunting in a t shirt. Temp hit 72

Well I had a pretty good opening day. I was done by 9:30..the only down side was after I shot my limit I did not know what to do for the rest of the day. Went back to the hotel, sat in the hot tub for a bit. Watched some TV cleaned the gun, looked at my watch and it was only noon..... Hope...

Looking forward to this year, I had a tough season last year, hopefully this year will be better.

Headed out for the second time this season. Hunted opening weekend and saw a woping 3 birds. All flushed way out there. Hunted today and again got skunked. I did however see the most birds that I have ever seen in one spot. I was driving to a wia and along the way spotted a rooster hanging out...

Just picked up the meat from the processor the jerky turned out great! Got plenty of burger and sausage to get me through the winter :)
