I have no clue how to train a bird dog. I would hate to mess him up. He is already pointing and seems eager. With the limited knowledge I have regarding bird dogs I would be worried I would lead him in the wrong direction.

I live in Nevada, I am looking for a trainer somewhat close. I am willing to travel a bit to get this dog trained. He shows a lot of promise on his own, but I am dealing with a bit of a gun shy dog. He does not like loud noises, he immediately hides when he hears any.
