Field lunches, camp meals, trip dinners

Me too. You are good candidate for those homemade burritos. Nothing simpler for dinner.

    New trucks

I am leaning toward staying with a Chevy for various reasons, but not set on it. I would like to hear any more RAM or Ford experiences. The Ford Ecoboost tubo V6 is interesting, amazing torque and hp they get from that, but I lean toward sticking with a non-turbo V8 for long-term reliability...

    New trucks

Dewey, you averaged 17.6 with the 6.2L pickup, towing? That's really good. And your buddy averaged 8?? Seems like something is wrong there. On fuelly.com the average is 16-17 mpg for the RAM 5.7L, not towing.

    New trucks

I took a quick look at a RAM 1500 the other day, with the 6'4" box. I did not have a tape measure handy but my wingspan told me the interior of that box is more like 6'2" measured between the tailgate and front box rail. Since I put a cot in the box and sleep there inside a topper on hunting...

    New trucks

Am looking at finally replacing my 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3L V8 Z71 4x4 after 170,000 miles. It's been a good truck, not too many problems over the years. I've always had Chevy's but not completely brand loyal. At home we have a Chevy, Ford, Toyota, Hyundai, and ('67 Plymouth!). Anyone...

    End of Season

I'm planning to head out to western MN for Jan 1-2, or Jan 2-3. Just me and my GSP at this point. I will try some areas I had some success in last December when it was wintery enough to bunch up the birds in heavy cover.

    motels near Aberdeen

The White House in Aberdeen allows dogs and is not expensive. Nice enough, too.

    Minnesota Slam

In MN I have bagged pheasants, ruffed grouse, and woodcock. Not sharptails and did not know there were spruce grouse. In SD I have bagged sharptails, prairie chicken, and Hungarian partridge, and of course pheasants.

    Kuranda Dog Beds

I have one. It's like a cot for a dog, but the corners are designed so the dog can't chew anything. I bought it when he was a pup and spent his daytimes in a kennel, he would get bored and chew any nice bed or rug we gave him in the kennel. Once he was about 10 months he was no longer...

Versatile Breed (all dogs) game taken

This happened while scouting for deer. I have found that when I have the dog along, coyotes sometimes will sit and watch rather than run off. This yote sat and watched us from 180 yards.

Versatile Breed (all dogs) game taken

Would folks on this site be interested in a thread with pictures of the variety of game our dogs have helped us take? Not just the "versatile breed" hunting dogs, retrievers/flushers are also versatile in my opinion, because they are better at waterfowl than my shivery shorthair would be, and...

    Beeper collars

For a pointing dog in thick cover I think the beeper locators are a must have. I have a Sportdog unit that works well. Mine is set so it only starts beeping if the dog stops as if on point. I have it set for "hawk screech" beep mode, so it has the added benefit of making pheasants hold better...

Got it. You can remove this thread. A sticky note would be a good idea.

    Photo of the Year Contest!

From a couple years ago in SD. I took this myself with a tripod and camera timer. Another one that's kinda different.
