    Rough Hunting

    In the UK they have almost no "wild" game birds so the majority of their hunts are driven. A rough hunt is what they call what we do...tramping through the fields with a dog hoping to either flush or point a bird.

    Pointer vs. Flushers?

    I have a Golden Retriever who works very close. She always stays within 15 yards. Its great, but their is something to be said for seeing a pointer hold a point and having the control of when that bird flushes.

    Are any of you starting to get dogs into shape??

    I have been working hard on conditioning my 2 year old Golden Retriever. Roller blading her seems to do the trick for about 45 minutes a day. Need to start to work on retrieves. She will retrieve a frozen Chucker no problem, but won't touch her dummy. Anyone else have these issues?
