Does anyone know if you're on private land, is it legal to purchase, release, and hunt birds out of season, if they're captive raised and released on your own property? I've looked on the DNR website but it doesn't seem to address such a scenario. As a side note to further complicate things...

We saw a ton of hens, 1 guy got 2 roosters. I got a rabbitt. The weather was really bad and the birds were a challenge since the dog couldn't pick up any scent trails. Plus once the birds got into the wind they were off like missiles. We still had a blast though!

Today was crazy, but a blast! Saw TONS of hens, one guy got the only 2 roosters and they were really tough shots. I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to get out again, but with not seeing many roosters either, it may be best to wait it out until next year. I'll let you know if we plan another...
