What do you guys do with your hunting dogs now the hunting seasons is over? I'm thinking of jointing some of the hunting dog clubs in Colorado may be do some bird dog challenge hunt or field trial test etc, I never done it before but like to give it a try, I think it will be fun for the dogs.

No !!! there are no birds in Colorado, Upland hunting sucks, I think you should stick with bowling or ice skating while you still have a bank account.

The last time I was at Steelfork the cover was very poor, I mean it was golf course like, all but one birds ran off before we even got 100 yard in to the field. I spoke to the owners son about the poor conditions, he told me they only had one good rain storm last summer, the late season grass...

Thanks for the warm reception guys. I now have a GSP and a lab but have had Brittany, Setter and Springer in the past. My go to gun is an AYA box lock but occasionally I’ll pick my trusty auto when I’m goose hunting.
