    ACL surgery advice

Thanks guys. Appreciate the notes. UplandHnter, to answer your question, we're doing the TPLO method...my vet (close personal friend) recommended it over other options. I don't know much of anything about it but am trying to educate myself. On a positive note, Merle is out this morning with a...

    ACL surgery advice

Gents! Merle, my supremely spoiled pheasant finder is a 7 1/2 year old GWP and began exhibiting symptoms of a torn ACL about 2 months ago. We conducted radiographs last week and while it's not a definitive method for diagnosis, all signs point towards a partial tear. Of course, the timing of...

English Pointers on Pheasants - what's been your experience?

Save yourself the trouble and get a GWP if you're going after pheasants...:)

    Honey Hole

Tin Can diner in Venango, NE. Their Sunday "brunch" is truly home cooking. It's an all you can eat feast that almost always includes some of the best fried chicken. I try to visit this little diner at least once a year. Love it!

New Browning A5 in 16 ga.

I got one today and it's cool but not that cool. Personally, I would have expected the finishes and machining to be, I don't know... cleaner? Feels like just another autoloader to me. Don't get me wrong, it points well, feels good in the hands, and I'm sure it's going to drop roosters just...

New Browning A5 in 16 ga.

Long time since I've posted anything on this forum but couldn't resist joining this thread. I'm a long time A-5 fan and am fortunate to own a few good ones including a Sweet 16 (Miroku, not Belgium) and I've got to say that while I'm excited to see Browning is reviving it, I have to ask, WHAT...

Looking for a GSP or GWP

Give my pal Adam Cunningham a call. He's down in Parker and would be a good resource for either breed, but everyone knows the wire is where it's at! http://www.ironwiregwp.com/

    GSP v GWP

I happened to check the forum tonight and saw this thread and couldn't resist posting. I have only owned one GWP, Merle, who just turned 5 this past Sunday and have nothing but positive things to say about my experience with the breed. I have primarily hunted cockbirds with her but have also...

    I'm back!

Hey Chad, I your tag too and hope to fill it this weekend along with a few roosters. Will be out tomorrow through Sat. That 98 tag ought to be fun!

    I'm back!

Yes, it would be great to meet one of these days. Are there any upcoming events that could serve as a rendezvous?

    I'm back!

Gentleman! It's been a damn long time since I posted last! Life has taken some busy turns but all is well. Wife and I had our first child (son named Carter) three months ago and Merle, my GWP had a litter of pups last summer (5 total) bred by Adam Cunningham's sire Fritz from Ironwire GWP. Moved...

    Pheasant gun specific

About the only time my A-5 Sweet Sixteen comes out is on nice days in the rooster fields! Same goes for it's brother, the A-5 Mag Twenty although it's been on a few dove shoots.
