    Hunting in Wyoming

[ Wow, Some of this is correct, and most of this is NOT. Wyoming Residents hunt more and buy more tags than NR's all day long. I was born and raised in Wyoming and still have many family members in the state. It's not uncommon for them to harvest 3 goats and 4 deer a year/ per person. Sounds...

    Hunting in Wyoming

Good luck. You are lucky because Wyoming is the most generous state when it comes to big game hunting. We hate it but you might as well benefit from it. Wyoming makes a lot of money off out of state license sales so you can not only get buck tags but you can get extra doe fawn licenses as well...

    Snow geese near Merna

Anyone know if the snow geese migrate through the Merna area? It's about a nine hour drive for me so I didn't want to make it and miss the migration. Any insight would be much appreciated!

    Goose hunting from a boat?

Thanks guys. My neighbor gave me some military camo netting so I'm going to construct something here in the next day or two since the hunt starts the first. I also need to build a dog ladder for my lab. She's gonna freak when she gets to retrieve her first goose!!

    Goose hunting from a boat?

Has anyone ever tried hunting geese from a duck boat out on a lake? I have a stealth 1200 and I'm debating on getting the blind for it but it costs $400!! If it doesn't bother the geese to land in front of then i'm all for it but i'm skeptical as of now. Let me know of your experiences in this...

    Elevation vs pheasant survival

Does anyone know at what elevation pheasants fail to survive? I have heard 5500 ft and I've heard 6500 ft. I have never heard as to why or where these numbers came from.

    Surrogator for sage grouse?

Here's the problem UGUIDE. No state is willing to give up the money allotted to them through oil drilling. It is just not going to happen. Especially for some bird. Hunters need to think outside the box to develop a stragety. We all know that less habitat means less birds. You're preaching to...

    Surrogator for sage grouse?

Ya. There are a lot of obvious factors that are even proven factors by wildlife officials. I was just thinking that maybe a surrogator could be a way to think outside the box since over grazing and oil rigs are not going to stop. Too much money in those businesses to care about birds and habitat.

    Surrogator for sage grouse?

Interesting concept eh? I haven't heard any discussion on using surrogators for wild sage grouse but since the population is down so low and sage grouse have such a hard time reproducing is it a possible idea that a boost in the hatch may help the problem?

What the hell to do with my life for the next 8-9 months...

Try crow hunting! seriously it is a blast. In Wyoming we can hunt them in January and February. Some states have tons of crows and guys shoot around 500 a day! To me it is like a mix between duck and coyote hunting in way. Get out there and try it. Some guys are against taking your dogs...

    Yellow lab makes me sneeze!

My yellow lab pup makes me sneeze and itch. She is only 6 1/2 weeks old. I am scared I might be allergic to her but I've never been allergic to a dog before. Has anyone experienced this with the soft new puppy hair? I am curious if maybe this will change when she gets her adult hair or if I...

    Help

keep your head down!!! Roosters are so awesome when they come up you automatically hold your head high looking at the bird. And you probably shoot the first shot too fast then panic when he doesn't fall. We've all done it!! I've always wondered if the "speed bead" (i think its called) would...

    Indian res

I saw a lot of pheasants outside Pocatello. I was biting at the bit to buy an online permit but it was my wife's birthday and I promised her I wouldn't. Good thing; because as we were driving back into town I saw I was in an indian reservation. Can anyone tell me what that heck is going on with...
