looking for advice: training a lab pointer

Great looking pup, but I'm biased to the chocolate color! Lol! I've only run labradors.....I've worked my current lab to "point" to as close as it needs to be when it's there.....but he is not from a "pointing lab" line. If he works a bird that he can lock down.....he will work to basically a...

    Golden hour

In my state of Wisconsin, especially in Fond du Lac County where I'm at, most of the large tracts of once pheasant habitat are gone. I'm 50 years old, I grew up tagging along often as a youngster with my Dad hunting wild pheasants, grouse and woodcock here in Fond du Lac County.....this was in...

I hear ya on that.... I've already got a couple ice fishing weekends booked in January for the Little Bay de Noc area (northern Green Bay body of water of Upper Michigan)......pretty good trophy walleye fishery. I'd love to make a run back out to SD but my dog probably needs another month to...

    Golf

I typically play about 20 rounds a summer.....some days the swing is on, some days it's OFF! Did stick a hole in one on about a 135 yard Par 3 two years ago at the course I play alot here around home. I enjoy it for the self vs course competition.

    Trip 12/8 - 12/12

We pulled it and headed home this morning. Successful day yesterday. Definitely less snow cover south and east of where we stayed (Webster). However, our better bird days seeing and shooting roosters were closer to where we stayed and battled the snow. Tuesday's rain knocked it down, but the...

    Trip 12/8 - 12/12

We got out here Sunday. Very limited on where you can go and hunt in the area we are in. Successful day yesterday. Not sure what our plan is for the rest of the week.....we may just hunker down and head home. It's only pheasant hunting, not worth damaging vehicles, injuries or worse in less...

    New Tires: Falken Rubitrek?

You will like those.....I have them on my RAM 1500. They are good in snow, ice, mud, rain, gravel and highway. They do have some noise to them, well at least compared to a stock road tire that came on the truck originally, but nothing that is unbearable.

Same......looks like some pretty frigid temps coming in there this week.....hopefully not too much snow to insulate the wet areas.
