Off topic but I have a question, do California quail sleep on a tree or on the ground? Bobwhites sleep on the ground, am I correct?

I have read that article in the past too, by the sound of it it seems like this kind of partridge is a dream gamebird. Shame that I can't find any info about captive breeding anywhere.

Just a few pheasants and European quail(coturnix coturnix) here and there. Terrain may look nice but when it comes to small game it's very depleted.
