After putting in 16-17 miles the last 3 days through crusted snow in some areas that made walking way harder than usual we moved farther south and got out f the crusted snow but did have close to 2” brand new light flaky snow on the ground. Hit two small sloughs with nothing to show except coyote tracks and one yote chased out. Then went to a shelter belt that runs along our buddies house. Had seen some birds fly in there when we were there earlier talking to him so expected some action. What transpired was nothing short of a site to see. Guessing 75 birds or more. Took about 8 minutes from first shot to last. Really special and what we needed since we all were planning to travel 3 or so hours today to get set up for our last day tomorrow in a different part of the state.

Now for the really important part. Since we hit the road way earlier than we had planned or expected we made a detour. After trading texts and posts here for the last 5-6 years I met Benelli Banger. Enjoyed about an hour and a half talk with him and a quick ride around the neighborhood. Was great to put a face with the name!

Agreed! Great time meeting Matt and his friend Dan! This is the best aspect of this forum!
I agree, have hunted with a few members and garnered friendships from those encounters. Looking to continue to in the future.
