Does anyone read the PF Journals?

In the most recent one, it had a lot of short articles on chapters all over the nation, the one that I liked the most was on the Nobles County MN chapter. They have funded (have to assume they had partners) 50 parcel acquisitions since they began in 1986. How frickin impressive is that kind of support! Anyone here that supports that chapter should pump-out their chest and be proud of that! Incredible, a model that should be imitated by others where public opportunities need to be increased. A lot of good reads in that issue.
The Super Issue 2025 issue has a great article on 100 year of Iowa pheasant hunting. That might appeal to folks in Iowa a bit more than most, but it was interesting looking at the timeline and how things have changed over 100 years. In 1901 a private game farm in Cedar Rapids was destroyed in a wind storm, which was credited with establishing the first wild birds. After that, until 1932, birds were being released all over the state. In 1925 the first season was held in just 13 counties in north-cental Iowa, a 3-half day season with 3 rooster limit. In '36 the season was open in 38 counties and 1 hen was allowed. In '43 11 counties had a "spring season" with a limit of 6 and one could be a hen. In '63 it looks like Iowa had the peak harvest of 1.94 million pheasants. It wasn't unti 1976 that the entire state was open to pheasant hunting for the first time. Lots of interesting things in that timeline.
